No. The University provides academic training and research support, but employment, promotion, publication, consultancy, and professional success depend on scholar performance, research quality, experience, market conditions, and employer requirements.

Applicants should have an MS/MPhil or equivalent Level 7 qualification in English Linguistics, English, Applied Linguistics, or another relevant approved discipline, subject to University and HEC requirements.

HEC Graduate Education Policy requires minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in the semester system or 60% marks in the annual system in the MS/MPhil/equivalent degree considered for admission.

Yes. The University must conduct or accept a GRE/HAT General equivalent admission test with at least 60% passing score. A subject test may also be required if the University or department decides.

Yes. The statement of purpose is an important part of the PhD application and should present the proposed research area, current understanding, intended impact, and seriousness of the applicant.

Only where University policy and the admission committee allow. The applicant may need a subject/equivalent test, deficiency courses, and evidence that their background is sufficient for doctoral study in Linguistics.

The source roadmap contains 50 total credit hours: 6 credit hours core courses, 12 credit hours elective courses, 2 credit hours religious/general courses, and 30 credit hours thesis.

The minimum duration is 3 years or 6 regular semesters, consistent with HEC Graduate Education Policy for PhD programs.

The maximum standard duration is 8 years or 16 regular semesters from enrollment to official award notification, subject to HEC and University rules.

After coursework, students complete the comprehensive examination, design and defend the synopsis, and then work on the doctoral thesis under approved supervision.

The roadmap uses a student-facing model selection from the approved elective pool. Final elective offering depends on faculty availability, specialization, supervisor capacity, enrollment, and University approval.

The current semester fee for PhD English / English Linguistics is PKR 100,000 per semester, subject to official admission system confirmation and University policy.

For postgraduate programs, the scholarship slabs are: CGPA 4.00: 75%; CGPA 3.90: 50%; CGPA 3.80: 40%; CGPA 3.50: 30%; and CGPA 3.20: 20%, subject to verification, approval, continuation requirements, discipline, attendance, fee clearance, and maintaining the required CGPA.
