Program Overview

The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program, offered with both Specialized and General tracks, is a strategic response to the diverse aspirations of architecture students and the evolving demands of the profession. Both options are designed to develop advanced knowledge, critical thinking, and research capabilities in the field of architecture.

In the Specialized Track, students are provided with the flexibility to focus on a particular area of interest, allowing for in-depth study and research. This path strengthens graduates’ expertise in their chosen field and fosters meaningful contributions to architectural innovation, both in Pakistan and internationally. The curriculum—including core courses, electives, and thesis work—is closely aligned with the selected area of specialization.

The General Track offers a broad-based education in architecture, without focusing on any one specific area. This option emphasizes versatility, providing students with a wide-ranging understanding of architectural principles and their intersections with related disciplines. Core courses are diversified, while electives enhance understanding across various aspects of architecture. The thesis in this track must align with one of the core areas covered.

Both tracks follow a uniform structure, comprising four core courses, four elective courses, and a thesis, totaling 30 credit hours. For all academic and professional purposes, both options are considered equivalent.
