Who We Are

This website, https://usa.edu.pk, is operated by the University of South Asia, Lahore, Pakistan — a chartered university with campuses at 47 Tufail Road, Lahore Cantt and 5 KM Raiwind Road, Lahore. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website. Separate University systems, such as the online applicant portal at web.usa.edu.pk and the student portal, have their own data handling practices.

Information You Give Us

We collect the information you type into the forms on this site:

  • Admission and inquiry forms — name, email address, phone number, gender, date of birth, CNIC / ID number, postal address, chosen campus and program, and your education history (boards, years, marks).
  • Job application forms — name, contact details, education, work experience, salary information, LinkedIn / GitHub links, an introduction video link for teaching posts, and the CV file you upload.
  • Campus visit bookings, seminar and consultation registrations, alumni, scholarship, feedback and partnership forms — the contact and scheduling details each form asks for.

To help our admissions team follow up with applicants who could not finish, the admission form periodically saves what you have typed before you press submit. If you start filling the form but do not complete it, the details you already entered (for example your name and phone number) may still reach our admissions team.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage analytics — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you found us (for example which advertisement or search result you clicked). We use Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics for this, and we record campaign parameters (such as Meta/Facebook ad identifiers) with form submissions to measure which campaigns work.
  • Technical logs — your IP address and request details are processed by our security and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) and our web server to keep the site fast and safe.
  • Comments — if you comment on a post we collect the name, email and website you enter plus your IP address and browser string for spam detection. An anonymised hash of your email may be checked against the Gravatar service to display a profile picture.

How We Use Your Information

  • Processing admission applications and answering program, fee and scholarship questions.
  • Contacting you about your application or inquiry — by phone call, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
  • Evaluating job applications and contacting shortlisted candidates.
  • Arranging campus visits, seminars and events you register for.
  • Measuring and improving the website and our admission campaigns.
  • Protecting the site against spam, abuse and unauthorised access.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who Can See Your Information

  • University staff — admissions officers and counsellors see admission and inquiry data; the Human Resources team sees job applications. Access is through login-protected, role-restricted dashboards.
  • Internal systems — admission leads are synchronised to the University’s student-relationship system so counsellors can manage follow-ups.
  • Service providers — the companies that host and protect this site and provide analytics or advertising measurement (including our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Google and Meta) process limited data on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information where the law requires it or to protect the University’s rights and the safety of others.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies — set by Cloudflare for security and by WordPress when staff sign in, and short-lived cookies that make the forms work. The site works without you accepting anything extra.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies — set through Google Tag Manager to understand site usage and measure ad campaigns.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the main website will continue to work.

Embedded Content & External Links

Some pages embed or link to content from other services — YouTube videos, Google Maps directions, our WhatsApp admission line, social media profiles, and the online applicant portal. When you interact with those services they may collect data about you under their own privacy policies, exactly as if you had visited their websites directly.

How Long We Keep Information

  • Admission applications and inquiries — kept for the current and following admission cycles so we can assist you if you re-apply, then reviewed for deletion.
  • Job applications and CVs — kept while the position is open and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can consider you for future openings.
  • Comments and their metadata — kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognised automatically.
  • Records the University must keep by law or regulation are retained for the legally required period.

How We Protect Information

The site is served over HTTPS, sits behind a web application firewall, and applicant data is visible only to signed-in staff with the relevant role. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information and limit access to people who need it for their work.

Your Choices & Rights

  • You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it.
  • You may ask our admissions team to stop follow-up calls or messages at any time — just tell the counsellor who contacts you, or write to us.
  • Most prospective students who use this site are 16 or older. Parents or guardians of younger visitors may contact us about any information their child has submitted.

To exercise any of these choices, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.
