Introduction

The program equips students with an in depth knowledge of designing and developing textile monuments, surface textile design, mixed media textiles and constructed textiles fulfilling the demands of Textile design industries. The supportive and creative environment encourage students to discover the world of materials and design by engaging them in hands-on studio learning techniques. Through these appealing studio and interactive sessions, students can develop skills and knowledge related to computer-aided and hand-crafted design along with a deeper understanding of commercial aspects of the industry. After agribusiness, the Textile Industry is the most noteworthy manager in Pakistan. It catches over 40% of the employment showcase. A degree in Textile plan concentrates on building up an innovative creative flair and the capacity to understand colour, texture and pattern along with a good understanding of different technique and the properties of various materials and techniques.

Program Objectives

To understand the segments of the Textiles industry and its local, national, and international interrelationship

To develop entrepreneurial skills and evaluate opportunities within the industry.

To discover a whole range of opportunities as diverse as print design, textile marketing & merchandising and apparel design.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have completed sixteen years of relevant education with 2.2 CGPA, second division or 50% marks i.e. applicants seeking admission in MBA must hold BBA degree or relevant business degree. It is to be noted that the admission will be granted after the interview by the Admission Committee after carefully reviewing the academic credentials.

Degree Values

Degree of Textile Design creates work for a variety of social and cultural contexts such as speculative work for galleries, client-driven commissions, trade shows, and varied levels of production. It exhibits self-direction in project conceptualization and realization. It participates effectively in the critique process, both in giving and receiving feedback. Work collaboratively and respectfully in multidisciplinary teams, taking on a leadership role as needed. Integrate knowledge of ethical and legal frameworks with effective business practices in dealing with clients, colleagues, suppliers and employers.

Career Prospects

Graduates can produce a body of work suitable for seeking professional opportunities in textile/surface design and have the ability to perceive designs and able to lead design houses & studios.
