Admission Regulations

Admission Rules

The University of South Asia (USA) grants admission to the students having sound educational background and show ability to achieve success in education. USA is an equal opportunity provider and open to all candidates irrespective of gender, religion, race, creed, colour, domicile, citizenship or disability. Admissions are offered in undergraduate and graduate programs twice a year i.e. in Fall and Spring semesters. However, admissions in Engineering, Law and Architecture programs are offered once a year in Fall semester.

Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programs

Computer Sciences Programs

Applicants must achieve minimum 50% marks in Intermediate examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics

Engineering Programs

Applicants must achieve minimum 60% marks in Intermediate (Pre-engineering) or equivalent examinations. There is a 2% quota allocated for DAE applicants.

Art & Fashion Design, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management Sciences Programs

Applicants must achieve minimum 45% marks in Intermediate or equivalent examinations.

Architecture Program

Applicants must achieve minimum 50% marks in Intermediate or equivalent examinations.

Technology Programs

Applicants must achieve minimum 45% marks in Intermediate (Pre-engineering) or equivalent examinations

Health and Life Sciences Programs

Applicants must achieve minimum 60% marks in Intermediate (Pre-medical) or equivalent examinations.

Law Program

Applicants must achieve minimum 50% marks in Intermediate or equivalent examinations. Law Admission Test (LAT) is mandatory with 50% marks prior to admission confirmation.

Graduate Programs (MS/M.Phil)

Applicants must have completed sixteen years of relevant education with 2.2 CGPA, second division or 50% marks e.g. applicants seeking admission in MBA must hold BBA degree or relevant business degree. It is to be noted that the admission will be granted after the interview by the Admission Committee after carefully reviewing the academic credentials.

Selection Criteria

  1. All eligible candidates applying for admission in undergraduate programs will have to appear in the Entry Test and obtain minimum 50% passing marks. The admission will be granted on the basis of overall merit which is computed as a weighted sum of two Examinations with the following weight-Entry Test 30% and FA/F.Sc/ICS/I.Com/ A Level/DAE/Equivalent 70%.
  2. The admission to MS/MPhil program shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from previous academic record, written University Graduate Admission Test and Interview (taken together) following the admission scheme approved by the Academic Council from time to time.
  3. A candidate must obtain at least 50% marks in both the test and interview to qualify for admission to the MS/MPhil program.

Documents Required

At the time of submission of application for admission, following documents must be attached:-

  1. Attested copy of Intermediate or equivalent certificate.
  2. Attested copy of SSC (Matric)/O level / equivalent certificate.
  3. Attested copy of CNIC or Form-B.
  4. Attested copy of CNIC of Parents/Guardian.
  5. Two fresh passport size colored photographs.

In case, an applicant does not have certified copies of the required documents, the same may be attested by the University Admission Officer by verifying the original documents


Admission Form must be signed by parent/guardian at designated space. Forged signature or fake documents in this regard may result in cancellation of the admission.

Admission Procedure

  1. Application for admission shall be entertained only on the prescribed form. Applicant can also download admission form from the University’s website and send it through courier service to the admission office after filling it properly. Applications received through courier service shall be entertained only if the pay order of prescribed fee in the favor of USA is attached. The application should reach at University on or before the last date fixed by the university. On acceptance of the form, the admission office will issue the admit card bearing the reference number, admission/entry test date, time and the venue of the test.
  2. After Entry Test, merit lists of successful candidates will be displayed on the university’s notice boards and website. Intimation letters for Provisional Admission will be issued to the successful candidates and they will be required to deposit their dues within the prescribed time period.
  3. Every candidate shall be required to submit an undertaking signed by applicant and endorsed by his/ her father/guardian stating that he/she shall abide by the Rules, Regulations and instructions issued by the University from time to time.
  4. It shall be the sole responsibility of the applicant to provide complete, correct and timely information to the admissions office. Applications without complete and correct information or documents shall not be considered for admission.
  5. To provide the equivalence certificate of academic qualifications issued by the concerned authorities i.e. Inter-Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), etc. is also responsibility of the candidate.
  6. An applicant awaiting F.A/F.Sc/A-Level and B.A/B.Sc result may apply for admission. In such case, selected applicant shall be granted admission to the program on provisional basis, which may be regularized after the applicant has been declared successful in the awaited result and met all the admission requirements of concerned degree program.
  7. In case a student with provisional admission fails to pass the result-awaited examination, Vice Chancellor upon recommendation of concerned Dean/HOD may allow him/her an extension of provisional admission through readmission, the student shall pay readmission/ registration charges prescribed by the University and may be given an exemption of courses passed at the University during the provisional admission. Extension of up to one year from the date of first admission may be allowed to the candidate, provided the maximum degree completion time of program is not violated.
  8. All admissions shall remain provisional till verification of all relevant documents of newly admitted students by the admission office. If any student is found guilty of submission of fake documents, his/her admission shall stand cancelled without any intimation at any stage. The University shall have the right to take appropriate legal action against such student(s).
  9. A candidate who has been rusticated or expelled by any University or college for misconduct or for use of unfair means in the Examinations or any offence involving moral turpitude shall not be eligible for admission in any program.
  10. The University reserves the right to change dates and deadlines for admissions. The applicant is advised to keep himself/herself well informed of any changes in schedule by visiting the University website at www. and using the online admission portal.
