The Department of Architecture at University of South Asia, is one of the oldest schools of Architecture in private sector institutions of Lahore. The school is contributing in building industry by providing Architects on a regular basis. We offer five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) program with 10 semesters, 176 credit hours and a thesis project. The program is designed to give more than 50% weightage to studio work. “The mission of Architecture Program is to involve students in learning architecture knowledge and developing professional skills as well as critical thinking through an effective curriculum embodied with studio working, architectural history, technology and practicum.” We believe in quality education with continuous quality improvement process. In this regard, the outcome based education system (OBE) is implemented in architecture program and courses are designed accordingly. Under this system, an effective assessment process is introduced to identify the student’s strengths and weakness which helps the faculty to develop plans to strengthen the weak areas of the students at individual and cohort level. Our regulatory body is Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) and accreditation council is a Pakistan Council of Architects and Planners (P.C.A.T.P.).

Architectural Knowledge An ability to apply Architecture knowledge ((history, theories of architecture / related art, culture, environment, social science, urbanism and technology) in the context of architectural design problems.
Professional Skills: An ability to know the requirements of building users considering byelaws and cost restrictions and also to solve the architectural, structural and construction problems associated with architectural design at an acceptable level and integrate building systems for desired performance of a building in terms of various mandates (spatial, thermal, air quality, acoustic, visual integrity).
Critical Thinking: An ability to identify, investigate, analyze and comparatively evaluate critical/complex architectural problems and suggest multiple viable design solutions.
Communication: An ability to convey ideas and express rationale clearly in design proposals/presentations using variety of media including visual communication, effective report and IT tools.
Investigation: An ability to investigate complex architecture problems through various methods including literature review, case studies, surveys, building simulations models, experimental investigation and interpretation of data and synthesis of information for conclusions.
Leadership and Professional Ethics: An ability to inspire and motivate the team members with leaderships skills including interaction, collaboration, negotiation, interpersonal relationship and professional ethics for an effective working relationship /environment.
Lifelong Learning: An ability to acquire knowledge, professional skills and information in the context of innovation and professional developments in the field of architecture through continuous efforts from diverse sources.
Architect and Society: An ability to understand the role of architect in societal and environmental contexts and reflecting it in design brief and demonstrate knowledge and need for sustainable architecture.
Graduates demonstrate their ability of applying the architectural knowledge (history, theories of architecture / related art, culture, environment, social science, urbanism and technology) in preparing design proposals and solving complex architecture design problems.
Graduates exhibit an adequate knowledge of building construction, building systems (structure, mechanical, electrical) and services in the process of architecture planning.
Graduates reflect an adequate level of effective communication, Interpersonal relationship, Leadership, Teamwork, Self-management, Information Technology (IT) and Design skills.
Graduates demonstrate the ability of investigation, critical thinking and analyzing the problems of critical and complex nature.
Graduates participate actively in activities and process related to professional developments and life-long learnings.
Note: Students awaiting Inter part II results shall apply on the basis of Inter part I
