Hopefully a successful one, am I right? Maybe the billionaire kind.
Well, if you’re not today, you could be someday! And knowing what type of entrepreneur you are just might help get you there.
See, social scientists have found that most successful entrepreneurs fit into one of six profiles, as determined by their analysis of 30,000 entrepreneurs. That’s a lot of insight, y’all.
And what did they come up with?
In a nutshell, most successful entrepreneurs fit into one of these six categories:
Of course, people aren’t so one-dimensional and each of us probably has some level of each in us. Still, we tend to display the characteristics of one more than all others.
Hustlers, for example, are enthusiastic and confident. They could sell ice to a polar bear. They’re out there going after what they want, and no one’s going to stand in their way. When it comes to common traits, hustlers show above average characteristics of agreeableness, extroversion and conscientiousness.
Zig Ziglar is a great example of The Hustler.
The Prodigy also ranks higher than average in conscientiousness, but think more Larry Page and less Mary Kay Ash. Prodigies are emotionally stable and have a natural business acumen. Their demeanor may be stoic, and and although you wouldn’t necessarily called them extroverts, they have strong social skills. Elon Musk is a great example of a super successful Prodigy.
Visionaries share their elevated fluid intelligence with Prodigies, but they’re way more extroverted and open. These people have the power to not only get those close to them excited about their ideas, but to inspire the masses, as well. Does anyone do this better than Oprah Winfrey? She and Ted Turner are great examples of this entrepreneurial type.
